About the Name Daren

You’ll notice that all the names in the DRN category have a vowel inserted between the D and the R, and there’s a very good reason for this. Words beginning with a DR phoneme have an extraordinarily high chance of being associated with the more sinister aspects of life… drained, dreadful, dreck, drunk, drivel, drool, drone, droop, drub, drug, drown, and drastic. But when the DR combination is separated by a vowel, the resulting names tend to take on the characteristics of their individual letters instead. Here the dignified, disciplined letter D bespeaks of an individual of upstanding fortitude, while the randy, racy, robust, and romantic letter R lends an air of joie de vivre. The letter N, however, being the icon of all things negative (no, not, never, nil, nix, naught, nothing, and nowhere), adds a lingering air of pessimism.

In summary, these are individuals whose personalities exude power and who approach life with aggressive zeal. Still, there’s that tendency towards over-sensitivity and moodiness when things don’t go their own way. But these thin-skinned souls are anything but prissy -- the DRNs’ sensitivities emanate from their deeply held philosophical belief in fair play, and their reluctance to pass judgment on others. Female DRNs, for example, often display the stoicism and matter-of-factness typical of masculine personalities, while many male DRNs exhibit the feminine traits of intuition and empathy. Both sexes are comfortable with these cross-gendered traits and tend to disregard society’s stereotypical boundaries in general.

It’s true that DRNs often harbor a dark side that manifests itself in their professional lives. And because they feel most vulnerable when it comes to their careers, they often have a calculating approach and may even resort to some good-old-fashioned manipulation if it gives them a leg up. While these actions may prove effective in certain politically oriented work environments, they are a guarantee of conflict when it comes to team pursuits like sales and creative situations. DRNs are more comfortable in leadership roles than most, in part because they feel less pressure to out-maneuver their coworkers. Like most people with a D name, DRNs are consistently high wage earners.

As mates, DRNs are usually sensitive to their partners’ needs, but their emotional responses to problems tend to be bit melodramatic (especially if they sense that their partner is losing interest). But in general, these are loyal souls who are able and willing to provide unconditional love and support to their spouses.
