About the Name Tyrone

The bright trumpeting sound created by the TR letter combination is responsible for the exultant sounds in the words triumphant, Trojan, trophy, tremendous, truth, strumpet, and trust, and aptly defines the essence of the TRN personality. But because the letter N is the symbol for negativity (no, not, never, nowhere, naught and nothing), it injects an element of sober restraint to the TRN names depicted in the words: stern, tarnish, torment, thorny, truant, trying, tyranny, and turnoff.

Even with their occasional forays into cynicism, TRNs are the kind of people you can count on when you get yourself into a jam and need someone to bail you out… in fact their very sense of self worth is based on playing the role of knight (or lady) in shining armor. It’s important to note that the altruism of most TRNs originates from their belief in Karma. In other words, there’s the expectation that you’d better do your part when they come calling on you.

While generous with their time and talents, TRNs are not known for their generosity when it comes to material resources, for the same protectiveness they feel towards their friends extends to their personal belongings as well. This may wear on intimate companions who often find it necessary to sneak behind their suspicious backs when it comes to spending money. And if you have something to discuss with your TRN friend, you should think about asking him or her to dinner: there’s nothing a TRN appreciates more than the promise of free food.

TRNs hate sitting on the fence when it comes to making decisions and, like many individuals whose names begin with a T, give their plans the benefit of some deep pondering before making up their (usually right of center) minds. But once the TRNs have found their obscure star, it will be unwaveringly followed.

Where their professional lives are concerned, TRNs prefer to carve their own routes rather than choosing well-trodden paths. It’s not that they’re particularly liberal or entrepreneurial; it’s that they have well-developed senses of independence and hate being told what to do.

This same hard-headedness is apparent in the TRNs’ relationship. They hate the disorder that comes from unresolved issues and will invariably be the first to broach conversations regarding potential conflict. But even though they might prove unyielding at times, loved ones know that in the end, their TRN mates will put the interests of the relationship above their personal needs.
