The letter W is the symbol for the mysterious and dark aspects of human nature and it effects are clearly visible in the words: weird, wild, warlock, wicked, warning, weapon and Wodin (the Norse god of war). The letter L, however, is the polar opposite; the icon of everything noble about the human condition (love, life, learning, laughter, and liberty). Consequently, the LW names represent people with appealing complexity and powerful insights into the workings of the universe and themselves.
If the LW was a stereotype, he would be a dignified college professor. With intelligence, humor and absent-mindedness all rolled up in one, he can expound for hours on quantum physics or the history of language, but for heaven's sake don't ask him where he's left his wallet. These endearing -- if somewhat exasperating -- traits may well charm your socks off, and when you’re in his presence you’d better be ready for something unexpected to happen.
LWs would rather rely on their wits instead of taking advice from others. If it’s true that their instincts serve them well, it’s because they’re constantly conducting experiments on life and carefully evaluating their outcomes. They are astute note-takers (even if they're only mental notes) and have a great eye for tiny details… as long as they don't involve the location of their car keys.
The articulate LWs often employ their intellectual talents in education or in the creative fields. But if they have a weakness, it’s that they are not particularly patient and should avoid professions requiring repetitive tasks like bookkeeping, manufacturing, or quality control. These are inventive and curious people, always willing to discuss the mystical aspects of the cosmos (more than a few LWs believe that aliens assassinated Kennedy), and are better off teaching, marketing or lawyering.
For all his romantic notions about how the universe works, the LW is not your dreamy knight in armor by any means. His idea of a hot date is taking a girl to a bookstore to illuminate her with his latest idea for a perpetual motion machine. But as life-partners, LWs are willing to provide strong shoulders for their mates and prove to be providers par excellence. If their marriages are going to have frustrations it’s that the LWs’ struggle with intimacy limits the depth of their relationships. Once they’ve broken through and achieved their unspoken understandings, however, they’ll prove to be powerful allies with whom long-term partnerships are the norm.
