Names that incorporate the rare and unexpected letter X usually signify a personality with a hidden agenda… or at least the carefully cultivated illusion of one. And even though these names begin with the learned letter L, it is the dominant the letter X which defines our impression of them. When he X comes intoclose contact with the L, its mysterious qualities can be discerned in the words: elixir, lynx, complex, flummox, dyslexia, galaxy, and Luxor (the home of the Egyptian god Serapis). LXs will surprise you at every turn. These taciturn people posses a quiet strength that grows more noticeable as you get to know them better.
The LX’s abrupt social style has the advantage of letting people know where they stand in no uncertain terms. They’ll be the first to broach the subject when there’s an argument to be had, and even if their bluntness may cause a few bruised egos, they simply won’t back down until matters are resolved. So if you’ve done something to warrant an LX lecture, it’s best to act like it’s the most sensible thing you’ve ever heard. They really believe that they know what’s best for you and unfortunately, they’re mostly right. Remember that you’re not dealing with a neophyte; you’re getting advice from someone who’s been there, done that, and is only looking to save you from the same hard lessons.
Although LX personalities aren’t the kind to luxuriate in the spotlight, they’re never silent about their opinions and are ever-willing to fight for them. Their philosophy of life is invariably left of center and they’ll happily stick up for the little guy by acting as his self-appointed spokesman. But as liberal as they may be, these are no bleeding hearts. They’re subscribers to the dictum that people should be held responsible for their own actions, and that education, rather than handouts is the best solution to all social problems.
LXs function best in careers that encourage them to grow at their own pace and often gravitate to small business enterprises that allow them to work on their own terms. The potentially messy complications of teamwork are a bit threatening to the organized LXs andunless they’re able to take leadership roles, prefer to work on their own.
LXs make for enthusiastic and dedicated mates as long as they can rely on their spouses to watch their backs in an otherwise inhospitable world. Children will be welcome additions to their close-knit families and will be raised with the same protective slant that marks all of their relationships.
