Spell the name Dennis backwards and you’ll get a fitting insight into the personality of those that bear a DNS name. Mischief is a strong force in these people’s lives and perhaps explains why Hank Ketcham selected a DNS name for his impish character: Dennis the Menace. Although the letter D is usually associated with all things dignified, disciplined and dominant, the negative qualities of the letter N (no, not, never, nix, nincompoop, naught, and nada) tend to create the sense of dank darkness found in thewords: demand, deny, dingy, dragon, drunk, and madman. And while the appearance of the sexy, sultry, sensual letter S plays its part in diminishing some of these menacing qualities, it is still responsible for the words: dinosaur, damndest, demonism, downcast, hedonist, defensive, and perhaps the scariest of all: dentist.
It’s not surprising then, that most DNS people turn out to be risk-takers who find adventuring an irresistible temptation. With their puckish sense of humor and penchant for tomfoolery, people either love ‘em or hate ‘em, but will almost always admire ‘em for their capacity to do precisely as they please and take their lumps without complaining.
The rebel streak in most DNSs means that no matter what job they choose, they’re likely to perform it with maverick flair. And did we mention that DNSs love the limelight? Whether it’s in sports, acting, music, or simply entertaining their friends, they are suckers for attention. But it’s important to note that DNSs have the talent to match their showboating ways, and if they have something to say, you can bet that it will be intelligently considered. Unsurprisingly for such unconventional characters, DNSs work best on their own and it’s not uncommon to find them setting up shop as restaurant owners or graphic designers. Only when they’re able to socialize freely, are they able to express their artistic visions.
In their intimate relationships – as in their vanilla lives -- DNSs can be quite demanding of attention and it’s hard to predict how they will react to a given romantic situation. But if you’re willing to ride the roller coaster of the DNS’s heart, you can be guaranteed of two things… you’ll never be bored and you’ll always have a dependable friend. DNSs are generous with their time and resources and loved ones can expect to be treated with respect and dignity. And since DNSs have never met a party they didn’t like, birthdays will always be celebrated with elaborate festivities and imaginative carousing.
