The lyrical letter L is the symbol of all the things that money can’t buy (life, liberty, love, learning and laughter) and has the power to soothe with its lyrically languid lilts. So when it occurs in names initialized by the judicious and judgmental letter J, it’s indicative of people who have an attractive balance of wisdom, wit and poise.
These are socially intuitive men and women who know how to work a crowd. No matter what kind of hair-day they’re having, it’s important for them to be ‘up’ when out in public. This kind of positive outlook pays dividends in the JLs’ popularity, which might explain the wide circle of acquaintances who feel fortunate to be in their company. But the downside to being in such high demand is that JLs often subjugate their personal aspirations to the interests of cultivating these relationships. There will be times when emotional-drain proves too exhausting and triggers a retreat into the security of their private spaces.
Like most people whose names begin with a J, JLs are canny about the way they earn and spend their money. A high percentage of JLs own their own businesses or end up as leaders in their chosen professions. But whatever field they enter, JLs are likely to be successful and like most J-named people, are among the first that everyone goes to for a loan. While you wouldn’t characterize them as being profligate, they are usually quite generous when friends and family are involved.

If you’re married to a JL you can always rely on their emotional and physical generosity; whether it’s uncomplainingly bringing home the bacon or dutifully tending the house and kids. With their fundamental philosophy of loyalty-first, it’s unlikely that JLs will emotionally abandon the ship unless their partner rocks the boat too violently. But JLs will insist on emotional honestly from their partners, and if it’s true that they can talk a dog off a meatwagon, it’s only because they understand the value of open communication.
In typical J-name fashion, their children will be treated like young adults with the expectation that they achieve the high level of moral and ethical behavior that characterizes the JLs themselves.
