Those whose names begin with the triumphant tones of the letter T are usually characterized by having a healthy dose of self-confidence and a gregarious nature. However, when the secondary letter in their name is the letter of negative influence (no, not, never, nowhere, naught, none, nothing), these names take on a sharply tenacious air. We see this effect in words like: tantrum, tarnish, taint taunt, torment, stern, taciturn, and talon. While these are individuals with a high-level of drive and talent, they’re not ones to suffer fools gladly. Some people even believe that TNs secretly consider themselves a little better than the rest of us.
Maintaining social status is important to the TN personalities who need to be seen as knowing the right people. To be fair, this is less an expression of ego than it has to with the practical problems of making money, because many TNs enter careers like law, real estate and finance, in which many of their clients come from their social spheres. There’s certainly no questioning the TNs’ competence in their work-lives; they are take-charge people with long-range vision with little time for frivolity. But if you ever accuse a TN of being selfish or egotistical you’ll find they are genuinely puzzled, for they really derive satisfaction from helping others. The selfish label probably arises from the TN’s ability to concentrate so exclusively on the task at hand that they don’t give a second thought as to how their inattention can affect others. They are workaholics at worst, and at best, single-mindedly gifted.
As children they were probably bouncy, excitable, and even hyperactive and, like most people whose names begin with a T, found release in their aptitudes for sports. And make no mistake: the TN’s talents include a highly competitive instinct and athletic ability to match. Though the TNs have little time for those who can’t pull their own weight, they will prove unfailingly generous to friends who want to get into the game. But even though money and comfort will be given freely, the price will sometimes be a condescending lecture on how to live your life.
Love and marriage with a TN can be a touchy affair what with their soft bits buried beneath their tough-talking exteriors and argumentative visage. The TNs modus operandi for getting their own way is through prolonged sulks, which relegates intimacy to a somewhat sporadic affair. Still, marriages are successful when the TN is paired with an independently minded mate, and even with all their emotional oscillations, TNs prove to be extraordinarily dependable, punctual and organized partners.
