About the Name Joyce

The letter S is the symbol for all things sexy, sassy, sensual, serpentine and sly, and the letter J is the harbinger for a personality full of self-righteous judgment. So if you’ve ever met a person who’s simultaneously charmed you and challenged your core beliefs, there’s a good chance it was a JS. These people have the admirable -- albeit somewhat annoying -- ability to beguile just about anyone and turn them into co-conspirators.

JS people are attractive and intimidating. They have the ability to lighten tense situations with their sly sense of humor and youthful vigor, but they also give the feeling that at any minute they’re going to switch into authoritative mode and start calling the shots. Perhaps it’s because they have such strong a confidence in their understanding of the universe that they’re willing to put themselves on the line in this way.

You’ll never find a JS following the crowd -- they’re the ones dressed in consciously unconventional clothes while somehow managing to make themselves seem stylish. They enjoy marching to a different beat and sometimes even garnish their reputations by being deliberately contrary, but JSs would never dream of making apologies for who they are; they have an unshakable belief in their own values and moral direction.

JSs are enterprising individuals who can smell opportunities from miles away and have a compelling need to be at the head of the action. They’re typically be the first to take advantage of new business trends and it would be unthinkable for them to be twiddling their thumbs while everybody else is making money. And when it comes to their verbal and motivational skills, JSs really shine. Quick thinkers with extraordinary street smarts, they make ideal salespeople and even better sales managers. But while they may be expert tacticians, JSs are not the world’s best strategists. Long-range thinking just isn’t their thing, which may explain why they tend to live so much in the moment.

Most JSs approach their intimate affairs with the same zeal as they do their careers. They are intensely passionate people and although they are sometimes accused of pushing too hard, most lovers appreciate their unrestrained demonstrativeness. Long years of marriage aren’t likely to diminish the JS’ ardor one iota, although partners will have to cede some level of control if they don’t want the union to disintegrate into a struggle for power.
