The letter N is the definitive letter of all things negative (no, not, never, nada, nyet, nix, and nothing), and even though these names begin with the life-loving and liberating letter L, the LN combination still manages to evoke the pessimistic (if benign) images found in the words loony, loner, bland, lunkhead, lesion, lament, and larceny. These are people who have a wonderful sense of direction in their lives but who also keep their emotions under wraps until they’re absolutely sure it’s safe to let them show.
Even though LNs have an instinctive understanding of how other people work, there’s usually some personal aspect with which they haven’t really come to terms. This can manifest itself in a variety of ways – maybe through a series of mood swings or a phobia or two -- but these characteristics in no way detract from the caring essence of the LN personalities who are deeply appreciated by everyone in their lives.
The LNs’ natural compassion enables them to maintain a wide range of friends with whom they form close ties. If you've ever spent much time around LNs you'll know the benefits of having competent and self-motivated people on the scene. Their open acceptance of others is well known within their circles and LNs can blend into pretty much any social group with unobtrusive ease. Simplicity is the name of the game as far as they’re concerned; they cannot abide having their lives bogged down in detail. Because things have to be neat and predictable, they will avoid relationships that are ill-defined and don’t seem to be leading anywhere.
LNs are talented enough to tackle any kind of work, but perform at their best when their jobs are centered on people. Social interactions are their specialty, and beingmore politically astute than most, LNs know how to maneuver their way around both bosses and coworkers. But despite their social intelligence LNs are unlikely to percolate to the top of the corporate pile. Their placid dispositions simply aren’t cut out for competitive environments and they are far happier pursuing their relationships than fighting for material gain. Teaching would be a great choice for these socially comfortable creatures, but even if they happen to work in technical fields, you can be sure that they’ll migrate towards leading the team… or at least being its cheerleader.
LNs are well equipped for the rigors of married life. Their matrimonial success comes not from any particular set of secrets but from the hard work they’re willing to do in understanding the emotional needs of their partners.
