When the emotional exuberance of the letter E combines with the zealous and zany letter Z, it forms the basis for the EZ’s inborn oddities. Few names can match the EZ root for sheer originality and funkiness, and these unusual names tend to herald individuals with remarkable personalities.
The EZ man is a traveler at heart and you could find him living anywhere from the wilds of Africa to the lofts of New York City. But just because you know an EZ still living in his hometown doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have a well-developed sense of adventure. For there’s one thing you can always count on from the EZ: a devotion to knowledge and exploration. Name any book to do with science, travel, religion, astrology or culture; and he’s either read it, preparing to read it, or secretly planning to write it.
As is typical of such erudite souls, EZs love good debates as long as they’re not about subjective issues, like who the world’s best jazz singer is. But don’t worry about offending them; it’s virtually impossible to ruffle their feathers with an outrageous statement or controversial opinion. Don’t let their absentminded-professor masks fool you into thinking they’re one dimensional — whether they show it or not -- there’s usually a roiling tumult just beneath the surface.
The EZ doesn’t search for his career… it tracks him down and ambushes him when he least expects it. Although things always seem to work out it the long run, EZs sometimes seem to lose faith in the future. For in keeping with their sensitivity, there’s a paranoid aspect to their personalities which prevents them from fully trusting their own decisions. Part of them believes that everyone else is going to make it while they’re going to be left in the dust. And even when they do achieve some professional notoriety they often feel it’s just a matter of time before people discover they’re really not as capable as they seem.
If it takes the EZ a long time to settle into his life’s work, it will takes him even longer to settle into an intimate relationship. He’s a little suspicious about love, and it’s a rare EZ who has the instinctive faith that’s needed to build trust. Given the chance, he’d choose the cool logic of his studies over the unpredictable fires of passion; but he can’t hold out forever. When his emotional side finally takes control he’ll grudgingly succumb to the messy tangle of feelings that love entails. The good news is that many partners report being pleasantly surprised on finding that their studious EZ was far more carnal than he ever let on.
